Will University help me get over my ex? watch

I have received an offer to study at a university I never thought I would be able to and I am over the moon. Though, I am still not over my ex girlfriend who I haven't been with for well over a year but cannot seem to get out of my head as hard as I try! (It was a very difficult breakup for me...) Does anyone know if going to uni (far away from my hometown) will help me overcome this? If the abundance of people in a new environment will help me get over the past? I am fearful that it'll just be the same once I am there (if I get my grades...) Any inputs welcome! Thanks

I think it would! You’ll be in a completely new environment, with new people, with possibilities of new hobbies and you can join societies as well which take up some of your time. If you keep yourself busy, you will have plenty of distractions and you can give yourself a bit of a new start. Who knows; you might even find someone else. I met my boyfriend of 3 and a half years at uni!

Perhaps I'm being overly harsh here but, just get over it, focus on your career. If you let this affect you continuously all that will happen is excessive frustration and annoyance, it's not worth it, it happened and that's it. Move on. Exiting your comfort zone is what you need, so please do yourself a favor and go to university, you will regret it eternally if you don't.

Thank you that is very encouraging! I have always wanted to pursue higher education and she has never taken an interest so it'll just be me going. The thought of meeting someone new feels an awful distance away right now but who knows!

No no, I appreciate your honesty. It is difficult to get over as we live so close and have known each other for so long, but I know university will open so many doors career wise and give me an entirely new setting. Guess sometimes my focus wanders and I focus on the less important stuff more - but getting my grades is my no.1 priority!

You'll meet so many new people and maybe even another girl. Lots of societies and clubs too. What uni are you hoping to go to?
