    Hello everyone,

I really need advice on which university I should put as a firm choice: i'm hesitating between Bath and St Andrews, yet I received all five offers (Durham, Warwick, Exeter) and applied for the course of Accounting and Finance.
To me, although Bath has less of St Andrews' prestige, it still has the placement year which is an advantage to me, the location/size of the city as well and having my brother there helps as well: my parents are really pushing for it.
On the other hand, yes St andrews is known on an international level, but I really don't know which to choose and as I said, the placement for me is a pro.
Please do give advice, and note that St Andrews, out of all 5 offers I received, is surprisingly asking for the lowest grade in the OIB ( French Baccalaureate with International Option), which means that if I put it as my firm, it'd be useless to put an insurance choice.
    Thank you for your help!

Prestige means nothing. The placement year will be a big advantage so go for Bath.

i had almost the exact same uni choices as you 4 years ago: St Andrews, Durham, Bath and Warwick.

I looked up the league tables to see which uni had the highest % satisfaction, and the the best fellow students. i eventually went with the uni that gave me the best course structure (eg 4 years vs 3) and the uni with the best internationalism

I went to St Andrews for my first undergraduate and I have very mixed feelings about which you should chose, because it's such a personal choice. I enjoyed my time there and found that it can be a magical experience with fantastic teaching. It holds a prestige that Bath doesn't and will be considered a better university choice academically. The cons are that it is very small and the university experience you'll get is based very much on whether you want to be in a small town, a sizable distance from anywhere that you can get work experience or an internship. However St Andrews has a vast and varied student body, and for such a small place is extremely diverse. I loved my time there and would encourage you to visit before making firm choice.
