I'm taking a section from my practice literature essay and I just want some feedback. I'm aiming for a 7/8 in literature and just want to see where I currently am. I'm in Year 11 btw.
"Shakespeare uses pathetic fallacy to introduce the Witches to the audience as they all meet in 'thunder and lightning'. Shakespeare does this to highlight that the Witches are both very powerful and evil, which was a common view of a Jacobean audience. Shakespeare uses nature to symbolise the amount of control the supernatural have. It creates imagery that the Witches are controlling and rebelling the weather. Jacobean audiences believed weather was controlled by the God's and would've feared the supernatural, especially if they had power over the God's"
What else should I be including for those top grades? Thanks
I would say a 6. You haven't really gone into much detail
You need to go into more detail about the connotations of "thunder" or "lightning".
Link to another part of the text.
'rebelling the weather' the phrase does not make sense
Correct the 'God's' to just God, since the Jacobean audience was largely catholic and thus Monotheistic
Does anyone have a structure that can help me include everything I need to include
