I have a question to answer for a part of my coursework which is "How is the theme of gender explored in the play and how are women treated?" but I have no idea how to structure it or how to even begin. Any ideas?

On a piece of paper, write 'gender' on it. Similarly, write 'women' on another. Then go through the play and pick out key points that relate to each one, perhaps with varying techniques used, e.g someone's speech, someone else's stage directions etc then build on it to use proper terms, apply contextual links etc, then in an intro outline what your essay is about.
