I'm a mature student, and I've been looking into taking a BTEC in Technical Theatre so that I can gain a qualification towards working as an Assistant/Deputy/Stage Management.

I've been looking for courses available, and found a couple of courses at Colchester Institute, and Barking & Dagenham college. There's not too many coming up when I search for London/Essex areas.

    1) I wanted to know if any one has (or currently is) taking a course in Technical Theatre as a BTEC.

    - And if so, what your experiences have been like being taught.

    2) I'd also like to know if anyone has any experience being taught by either of these colleges themselves?

    - What was the course like?
    - What were your lecturers like, etc?

I'd appreciate any information anyone can supply, as the prospectuses are... rather vague for these courses.
