    Hi alllll
I’m a soon to be student at the University of Brighton and goon. To be studying English Literature (mostly because the only subject I didn’t completely end up hating in school)! I’m super excited and super nervous to move to a completely new city! (Though I’m no stranger to this as I’m currently on s gap year in Scandinavia lol)

Anyway... unlike most students I’ll be moving into private accommodation with my bf who’ll be moving to Brighton with me. I’m totally okay with this because I don’t think I can deal with living with other people for a MONTH let alone 365 days. Even with close mates I eventually get tired with them so I’m kinda cool with having a sanctuary for myself and bf.
BUT, I am super scared that this could isolate me or I’ll end up making less friends because I’m not on campus ))):

So, Is anyone who is applying to Brighton uni for 2018 going through a simular situation where they’re living off campus? Does anyone who has experience of what it’s like to live off campus have any advice on how to maintain a social circle?
    Lol
    Much appreciated 😊

Btw I plan to get a part time job on the side to keep saving money for rent AND another gap year -.- im f***** dreaming ok...

Just make an effort with people on your course and you should be alright. Could also consider joining a society in case your course doesn’t provide as much opportunity for socialising. Having a part time job will really help though as you’ll automatically gain a group of work friends. Aim for bar work, retail etc. just a job where you’ll be around other people your age.

Good place to practice, plus everyone around you is drunk so not like you're going to be judged. Not sure how many staff nights out you'll have if you work in a library tbh

OH Hey!!! I'll be living off campus as well and am in the same predicament as you! I'll be doing pharmacy at moulsecoomb but I also liked the idea of having all sorts of friends doing different courses. I'd go for the private accommodation too but every place is full so i'm scared i'll be left with no place to live :/
