    HELPPPP PLEASE!!!
I am revising for Russia for history GCSE, and most of it is making sense.... but I just can’t understand what the Bolsheviks wanted (like why they started revolts, what they wanted to change). And I understand the whites wanted the opposite to the bolsheviks but please can you explain what they wanted too and why please? Thank you 🙏🏻 😊 You would be a god send

    Overthrow of existing regime. Tsar.

The civil war was a struggle for power. Bu that time the Bolsheviks had already overthrown the Tsar and the Whites were a mixed bunch of groups, but they all wanted the overthrow of the Bolsheviks. Some but not all supported the old regime.

The BBC links are part of the new revamped bitesize and fun. I watched them.

The Bolsheviks are essentially Lenin and the communists.
They have just seized power with a lot of radical ideas.
The people they seized power from want it back and are opposed to these ideas as well as the fact they killed the Tsar.
    Hence civil war.
