So, now is the time that second years (or equivalent) are choosing their final year dissertations and projects. As much fun as this is, I was hoping to get some postgrad advice as to whether or not your undergrad dissertation topic carries any weight when applying for postgrad programmes?

For example, if I do my dissertation on reptiles, will I look more appealing when applying for a reptile-based masters? Or does it not matter at all?

It may help but generally not really as every uni has a different system of allocating projects.
