PM Margaret Thatcher: What good/bad did she do? watch

    • Thread Starter

I have acquaintance's who seem to believe she did nothing but good for the country, but I also have heard she was incredibly detrimental to the country, such as in industry : so what are the facts of any good and bad, setting aside your ideological idiosyncrasy's?

a leader is ultimately someone who leads people not only through the good times (pretty much anyone can do that) but through the hardest of times. A great leader is someone who leads people through change that they don’t necessarily want to be led through, for fear of what may be waiting for them on the otherside.

Already Thatcher is being remembered as the PM who changed Britain in the most radical way imaginable and much of that change was change that people didn’t necessarily see the need for, want or desire.

Irish Republican Army bombed the hotel Thatcher and many of her cabinet were staying in during the Conservative Party annual conference. She had refused to meet their political demands, particularly during the 1980-1981 prison hunger strikes. Thatcher was unhurt although several colleagues were among the dead and injured, and she appeared the next morning, defiant and undeterred from continuing with the conference.
Which accompaniment is best?
