Do you think I am good enough to take FM a level watch

    • Thread Starter

I recently got my mocks back and in maths I got an 8 which is an A* equivalent.. I havent taken FM at gcse level but I was offered t but declined.. i have my gcses in two months and i have to submit my a level choices by Friday.

    Current choices

    (Further maths?)

those are my 4 a level options and they’re a really good spread as long as you keep up with all of them! however, i had the advantage of doing the fm gcse which meant i basically knew all of the AS maths and could focus on the further stuff. if you really enjoy maths, go for it!

Further Maths is worth it imo. You might regret it if you don't do it, but you can always drop out if you feel like it isn't for you.

FM GCSE has very little of the A level in it. It certainely may share a bit with maths alevel, but definetely not a lot in further maths alevel and whether you're doing it FM GCSE or not wont make much of a difference.
