On a more serious note, do they mind if you take a new A Level in your Gap Year (ie Maths A Level) if that is the requirement.

Even if you have applied for deferred entry, you have to have met their offer by the 31st of August (time for exam re-marks etc.) for them confirm your place. Therefore you cannot take an exam in your gap year...

Either you've looked at my Facebook and incorrectly mistaken Poirot for Chaplin, or that was a coincidentally appropriate comment. I'm thinking the former.

You underestimate me. :frown:

It should be fine for you to take a Maths A level then, just put it as a pending grade on your form.

I've heard the whole 'LSE accepts internationals over home students who are of the same 'quality' (same number of A's, great refs, e-c's) because they receive more money than they would for the home students' rumour. I don't know how true it is but there would seem to be a correlation indicating that.

Let's see what we can do here:

a) 29 x 2 x 68 = 3944
b) That's > 2008, so 3+9 = 12 & 44 = 1244
c) In 1244AD, the Cathars of Montsegur surrendered after a 9-month siege
d) Siege suggests perserverance
e) WAITING LIST!

Don't give up

1) 14 x 10 x 89 = 12460
2) No-one likes trailing zeros. 12460 = 1246
3) In 1246AD, the eminent Richard Fitzroy died
4) Fitzroy was constable of Wallingford Castle
5) Wallingford Castle was described as 'impregnable'
6) UNSUCCESSFUL, I'm afraid :frown:

(Well, you didn't apply to LSE either :p: - you knew!)

OK, then. Since you haven't yet applied to LSE, we have to use a slightly different algorithm:

1) 10 * 8 * 91 = 7280
2) We're still not a fan of trailing zeros: 7280 = 728
3) In 728AD, Liutprand, King of the Lombards, occupied all of the Exarchate (it was a slow year!)
4) Lombard is also the name of a loans company in the UK
5) Lombard Direct pride themselves on their 'quick and easy application', promising a 'quick decision'
6) APPLY! There's nothing to lose
they have an underground bunker and they tortue you into admitting why you can't go to LSE.

of course they prefer A*s at GCSE & Further Maths to single - who doesn't
Do they like all A grade modules? everyone likes it.
Public/state school? - these days I don't think they give a sh~t - we are ALL paying the same tution fees.

Congratulations! The London School of Economics has informed us it plans to make you an offer of a place...

1) 20 * 2 * 82 = 3280
2) 3280 -> 328
3) In 328AD, Athanasius was elected bishop of Alexandria
4) Alexandria once consisted of little more than the island of Pharos
5) Pharos is the title of an album by SETI
6) SETI is also the name of a deep space exploration project
7) ACCEPTED (well, your chances are out of this world, anyway )
