na ur the fool mate

Loads of people have been trying to figure out LSEs admissions criteria for ages now. It changes so much that no one apart from the tutors themselves would know. Some say GCSEs, others say dates  we will never know and you should stop wasting time trying to find out

My point was that this isnt some scheme to try and get into LSE, I was just interested to see if they had any badly kept secret criteria. What do you mean when you say 'others say dates' by the way?

No, you would be a fool to figure that what you're gaining by posting this kind of question is greater than what you're losing in terms of wasting everyone's time - including yours. And "get lost" ? Who the hell do you think you are ? What is this, the ghetto ?

Do you not think you are wasting time by trying to argue? I may be wasting my time trying to find out, but it was worth a try - it took all of 1 minute to post.

No, this quite clearly isn't the ghetto. You were just being a bit of a prick. If you don't like it, don't reply.

Why, I'd be delighted:

a) 21 x 1 x 90 = 1890
b) In 1890, the Kingdom of Italy established Eritrea as its colony in northeast Africa
c) Eritrea finally gained its independence in 1993
d) 103 years is a hell of a long time
e) You know what's coming
f) WAITING LIST!

Not a bad start! Good luck with your application

I suspected as much , thanks again. Repped.

But I get utility out of arguing with chaps like you. Only difference is, I don't feel the need to use insults - sounds like that's too sophisticated for you.

Do LSE have any hidden admissions criteria?

Wouldn't be a secret if people could answer this question now would it?

This is a forum! If I want to ask if LSE have any secret admissions criteria, then just let me. I didn't know otherwise, I was just starting a thread, a discussion - thats what the forum is here for.

I am absolutely sick of really pretentious people like you jumping down the throats of anyone who asks what seems to them an innocent question. There was no need for you to come on here and just have a go at me for asking this question - talking about wasting time...

If they knew the secret they could. They might go to the uni, know something and be prepared to spill the beans.

Take it easy. I've been around this forum for (too) long and I've seen too many similar threads not to get tired of this question. I think steve's in the same boat btw. At any rate, I didn't insult you personally (note I took care to describe the query as stupid, not the poster) so you shouldn't have reacted so aggressively. And for the record, I'm not pretentious.

Only the admissions tutors know the policies they use to select entrants, and they are not going to post them on here.

Anything else is hereay or outright *******s.

Fair enough, but I havent and a search didnt reveal anything of any real substance (at least not recently). I just feel that I was asking an innocent question, and you don't have any obligation to reply if you disagree with the post. Im not wasting anyones time because people don't have to reply. Try and remember that people are constantly joining this forum, and will want to ask questions to students etc. I appreciate that you have been here a long time and it probably gets a bit annoying but it wasn't as if it was the kind of thing I could just google. I just wanted some opinions.

Well, to be fair, a number of threads deal with your suggestions separately - I can't count the number asking about blacklisted subjects for example, or whether Further Maths is preferred etc. But point taken, apologies for sounding a bit too cynical.

Ah, but I've already been rejected by LSE  - damn Gemini starsign!
Let's see if you have better luck:

a) 14 * 1 * 90 = 1260
b) In 1260AD, construction began on Dunkeld Cathedral in Scotland
c) Dunkeld sits on the banks of the River Tay
d) The Tay is the sixth longest river in the UK
e) According to The Guardian, LSE is the sixth biggest uni in the UK
f) That can't be mere coincidence
g) ACCEPTED!

I'm very impressed with the calibre of applicants this year! Congrats all

I must be really good, seeing as i didn't apply!! It feels really good to be scouted by a leading uni!! May just reject the offer anyway

I will rep you tomorrow!!!!!!

Well for Cambridge and imperial it is slightly different

a)14/2*91 = 637
b) Basra in Iraq was founded in AD637
C) Iraq was fighting America in 2003,
d) Switchfoot, An American band released their debut album in 2003
e) They sing "Only the losers win"
e) You = loser.
f) ACCEPTED.

 The equation needs refining but it is 88% accurate

Aha! The infamous Cambridge acceptance formula revealed at last

If it had been LSE, of course:

a) 14 x 2 x 91 = 2548
b) That's > 2008, so (2+5) & 48 = 748
c) In 748AD, an earthquake struck the Middle East from northern Egypt to northwestern Mesopotamia
d) Today, Mespotamia makes up most of modern-day Iran and Iraq
e) Many believe the US had no reason to invade Iraq
f) LSE will have no reason to reject you
g) ACCEPTED!

The signs are good, whichever uni you opt for :p:
