What else can she do? Rules of diplomacy say she can't ignore it, can't just pretend it hasn't happened.

This is how this kind of thing is supposed to be dealt with, it's just we've all got used to the buffoon with Twitter in the round room in the other side of the pond being a colossal numpty that we've forgotten that nation states are supposed to be restrained and kinda silly about this kind of thing.

Well this numpty across the pond is actually bringing positive change, unlike most of the recent Western leadership which prefer predictable empty plattidues.

He's made dialogue possible with North Korea, and I can imagine Trump meeting Kim and charm him to build a working relationship, which Obama could never. He spoke in Saudi Arabia and got the leaders onside to tackle extremist Islam.

I'd rather he says the odd wacky thing on Twitter than having no idea what the positions were.

    Is he though?

Saying he'll have the conversations - at least, saying that, then saying"no, certain things have to happen first" - isn't the same as them having a positive output.

The "odd wacky things" are showing be really doesn't know what the positions are.

If they decide "nah sod that deadline" then what? Expel some more diplomats? Worst ultimatum ever, git gud May.
What exactly do you want? Military escalations in Ukraine?

By all means ask for tougher repsonses, but I hope you are the first to volenteer for service at the front.

Well, a willingness to talk or negotiate with a regime on the brink of having nuclear weapons sounds more sensible than ignoring the threat and setting the example of toppling regimes you don't like (which is what Obama and Bush did and Hilary Clinton would have continued). So if there are sensible preconditions I still think it's positive.

I just think presenting an 'ultimatum' was ultimately pointless seeing as we're too smol to do anything noteworthy enough to get them to admit any shenanigans. Tougher responses would be exactly the same except with the addition of potentially getting blown up, as you've pointed out.

Yes, I doubt they will be losing sleep over a few diplomats being expelled. Maybe the solution to end future deaths is to stop painting Russia as the enemy and build a decent relationship.

In fairness I doubt a war with Russia would last long enough for anyone to be sent to the front 😂

Western propaganda at its finest. Little do they know the root of corruption is within their own government. The masses need to wake up!!!!!

It's more than just expelling diplomats though- aren't we increasing sanctions on them?

Theresa May's ignominious actions do nothing but incur embarrassment for the people of the UK. The UK atm is a rogue state that functions on lies as evinced by the arrest of Brittany Pettibone and Lauren Southern. All the UK does at present is breed poverty, Islamic terrorism, while the health system, public transport and military are falling apart. To exacerbate matters even more authorities seem to be doing everything they can to eviscerate diplomatic relations
