I’ve never had trouble making friends before, I found a group when I first started my new 6th form but then left for another who ended up being the wrong crowd and got me in more trouble than I needed so I backed away to focus on my work. I’m now in year 13 and although I still have people I talk too in lessons and forms, etc.I don’t have anyone to even sit with at lunch or break or whatever, it’s all grand saying it will help you focus on a-levels but it makes me want to go home so I can avoid the awkward walking around the school avoiding people and trying to find somewhere to it alone and eat so I normally leave during study periods and don’t come back which isn’t helping my attendance. I’ve only got a few more weeks so I’m not concerned about it now but instead quite worried about going to university? I feel like I’ve forgotton how to be social after a year on my own, where before I used to be very talkative and outgoing. Why did this happen? Was it something I did? I’m concerned I’m just trying to reassure myself when I tell people it’s because I genuinely don’t get on with anyone in my 6th form?

Do you have any extra-curricular or clubs at your college? It is never too late to make new friends and you can meet people you never previously talked to in classes. Looking at outside of college - look at clubs and volunteering as a way to meet people. You have to put yourself out there and make the effort to socialise and make friends. Not everyone you meet will suit you (like your old friends) but there will be people who suit your personality and that you want to hang out with. The world is a bigger place than your college!
