    Hi my name's Tom
I am currently a first year student, living in halls of residence. Recently I was asked by some of my friends if I wanted to rent a house with them for the second year. I really like them and we get on, so I really would like to join them. The thing is, in my second year I have the oppertunity to go to study in America for the second semester of my second year, which is also something I'd like to do, honestly it would be a dream come true. I'm sure I've heard that landlords can do shorter living contracts that cover half a year, but I imagine that this will leave my friends with a higher higher rent between them, and I don't want to do that to them. I've tried researching but there doesn't seem to be a great deal of information around this subject. If anyone can offer some information or advice I would be very grateful.

    Thanks.
    Tom.

Can you go to your student services centre and ask them or go into a student housing office?

Actually I think there might be one just around the corner. Thanks I'll give it a go.
