I have heard from various sources that a 96-98% ums is required to get into MBBS in Hong Kong for Alevel exams. However if I am taking the cambridge pre-u exam with papers that are far lot harder and significantly lower grade boundary just because of that, will I still be required to obtain a 90% above ums? Or will I be disadvantaged if I got a D2 in Pre-u, which is A* equivalent, but then the admissions will say that I haven't reached D1 thus I am not academically capable enough?
    Thanks!

No one can predict what admissions will say. Check the uni entry requirements and if you meet them apply. They will be set for a reason and you won't be the first or last applicant in the same position.
