What are the factors affecting your choice of career path? And what's your personal career choice?

Figure out what your priorities are.

Figure out what interests you and what you are good at in terms of skills and subject matter.

Look at ways and environments where you can use those skills.

    Look at careers.

Identify how to get from where you are to your chosen career. Qualifications experience etc.

ID jobs and employers and apply, get qualifications and experience.

Work your way up the ladder.

I'm doing a computer science degree with the hope of becoming a doctor. It wasn't until the start of my 2nd year I realised I wanted to go into medicine rather than technology.

I haven't decided what I want my career to be yet but I am not too worried about choosing something that I think I want to do for the rest of my life. Loads of people now have several careers and I think the unis make too big of a deal about finding the perfect lifelong career straight off the bat. When I graduate I'll see what's out there that interests me and give it a try. But if after a year or two I'm finding it unfulfilling I wouldn't be afraid to make a switch.
