I have an economics offer for both UCL and LSE and I’m not sure which one I want to pick. At first I was convinced I’d pick UCL since it has a year abroad, it would allow me to study languages on the side and I got the offer several weeks ago but when I received my LSE offer yesterday I starting having doubts and I’m now unsure.

In terms of reputation and future employability chances I’d definitely do with LSE, I’ve heard all most all courses are fantastic there. LSE does have a limited student exchange program. If studying abroad and learning a language on the side is really that important to you then go for UCL.

Predicted A* in maths, Spanish, French and A in further maths
12A* at GCSE not that it really matters

I am deciding between UCL and LSE too......I am not very into Investment banking and I thought LSE is a bit too intense and stressful but LSE is more specialized. Also, I prefer making friends with people from different backgrounds and courses. So really can't make up my mind, like them both equally!!

I'm in the same position - erring towards UCL primarily because of the year abroad but worried that it might be a mistake to turn down the acclaim of the LSE.

Have you made your decisions yet?

I went for LSE, I couldn’t turn down the uni with the best economic department, but aside from prestige I’m sure the differences are minor.
I will have my year abroad after I finish hopefully
