Hello, I am looking to study a BA degree with the Open University in a named humanities subject (English, History or RS). My long-term goal is to get a place on the SCITT/PGCE programmes in my local area in order to become either a primary school teacher or a secondary school English teacher.

I presently have all the needed GCSEs for both, and I have no A-level qualifications.

Will an OU degree be suitable for a position in teaching?

No local PGCE provider in my area asks for A-levels. They ask for a 2.1 for secondary and a 2.2 for the primary course.

    OU degrees are suitable.
