Hi, wrote to around 40 schools asking for experience for PGCE start in Sept 2018. Almost no replies. Followed up with phone calls. Anybody having trouble getting experience. Some schools are only accepting "home course " students so now I say I am thinking about applying. (True!) Anybody ideas for a better marketing strategy?

It is hard. However, you can book school experiences through the Get Into Teaching website. You need to register first.

Some schools also do extended experience day courses. I did an excellent three day course.

I don't know where you are, but in Wales we don't have a School Experience Programme like DfE, so I had to email and phone as well. I think I contacted every secondary school in the area before someone finally agreed to two days!

As I'm applying for Physics, the Institute of Physics have their own SEP programme and I was able to arrange a day through them. Perhaps there's similar for other subjects?
