    Hello!

I got some offers from banks for Belfast, Leeds, Edinburgh.

The salary is 25k. Is this a serious salary? I researched that it would cost me 6k less from living in London than living in these places. The similar jobs in London pay 35k, which is 4k more considering the living cost differences.

    What is your opinion?

25k will go much further in Belfast and Leeds and a bit less far in Edinburgh, than in London. London is significantly more expensive than anywhere else in the UK.

You can use this site to check average cost of living in different cities:
    https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/

    e.g. compare Belfast and London

    Leeds vs London

    Edinburgh vs London

£25k is pretty typical for a graduate job (assuming you are a recent graduate).

One big difference is whether you need a car to (reasonably) get to work. All all the jobs in City Centres? Also what your lifestyle is - do you want a golf club membership or your own flat? These are much more expensive in London.

My guess is that for a new graduate type lifestyle in shared housing London does not cost £6k per year more - maybe if you say its £4k take home difference that would be a realistic guess - but only if you don't have or need a car.

I think it's absolutely clear that in London you never need car and anywhere else you always need a car.

No you don't. Other cities have public transport too...

No - its not easy to recruit good people to go there. See how much LandRover pay (non engineering) grads.

Not necessarily - lots of finance type jobs are in city centres and you really dont want to drive and pay for parking in Leeds. On the other hand if you are in out of town industrial park its pretty frustrating living without a car.
