I am currently doing double science, history, geography, ICT and photography. I am in top sets for all of my subjects but my school basically treats people who didn’t take triple science as thickos. They don’t take us as seriously and always compare us to the triple students, they generally don’t care as much about us. I am also worried as I didn’t take a language and the subjects I’m doing (mainly the photography and ICT) aren’t very academic and may be seen as easy. I know it’s far off but I hope to go to a top sixth form and a top uni but i feel my GCSE’s may hold me back? Any advice or am I worrying to much? 😅

Tbh you will probably get higher grades with all the workload you dont have to worry about
Triple science ( 6 exams) has a lot of content to revise for and languages also.
I take french and im not bad at it but i have realised i am never going to need it in reality.
So yeah, think of yourself as lucky, as you can spend more time rvising other subjects

Triple science used to be 9 exams when I did it but now it’s like 12. Double is 9 now I’m pretty sure. Also, the only unis that look at GCSEs for anything other than medicine really are oxford and cambridge. GCSEs are only useful to get into 6th form and again they only look for passes at GCSEs so take whatever you’re most likely to pass GCSEs often don’t have a lot of weight to them unless you leave education at the end of yr11.

Oh okay, yeah I did old OCR and it was a few years ago. We did 12 mods, 9 exams and 3 courseworks. It’s probably a bit different now.
