I'm 17 and been looking into the idea of going interrailing in europe this summer (which is after I finish year 12 before year 13).

It seems a lot teens my age are too afraid to travel without parents? I feel like I'm ready. I've never like done a holiday anywhere alone but I've flown places alone (e.g. from uk to australia and bits of southeast asia)- actually the last time I flew anywhere with my parents was when I was 13.

Obviously I'd preferably go with a friend but there isn't really anyone else who I'm close with who'd want to, have the money to and be allowed to by their parents.

So do you think it's safe enough for me to travel alone? If so, like are there specific cities and countries that I should probably stick to?
I know I'm only 17 but like I'll only be 6 months away from turning 18 so I'm basically as mature as I'd be if I was 18. I'd just really like the freedom.

(obviously i will have my parents consent - in fact they're very encouraging about me going to travel without them).
