This is a bit of a random dumb question, but with the laundrettes at john foster, can you use things like 'eco-balls' for your washing and can you use liquids instead of powder?

You can use whatever you like. There is a bit for the powder and a bit for the fabric softener. But I always used to just put my liquid-tabs in the washing machine itself and my clothes washed fine!

Are the delux rooms at opal court actually bigger then the standard rooms or is it just that they have a double bed?
I just recieved my accommodation package - you know, the one with the accommodation form and the prospectus.

I wanted to know, do I fill in the form and send it right away in the envelope provided or do I have to wait for the registration package to get here? (the one with the bank details + registration form)

Please help!
No. Just send your accomodation form back!

Can I just check you only get a form once you have an unconditional offer? All this talk of accommodation forms is making me nervous!
For those of you with Conditional offers, you will not recieve your accomodation forms until you've been accepted!

Great thanks. I thought that was the case but then got a bit worried with people mentioning forms etc.
Don't worry I had exactly the same worry last year. It is a bit confusing but don't worry about it!
Hey,
In which areas of the city do 2nd year students live?

Thanks.
I should be transferring to Leicester (2nd year), i'll know in the next week.
What are my chances of finding a room in a student house for September?
I'd prefer not to be in Halls.
Bit vague i know, and apologies for this.
Bump ^
I wouldn't say your chances were high for getting a house organised for straight away... Most students, I would assume, are not in Leicester and as far as I am aware the only place people put adverts in for housemates is in the Student Union. They don't put them on the internet, that I know of except on Facebook maybe.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific. And if you do end up in Halls, they are lovely so don't be too concerned. And also, are you a History student who has finished the second year or are you about to start it?

Good luck!

Hey,
Thanks.
I'll be starting my second year.
With regards to Halls accommodation, i've heard Nixon Court is for 2nd year students. What are your opinions on this hall and the others? (Sorry for this reoccuring question!)
I'll take a look around on the 23rd anyhow.

Thanks again.

Nixon court is for all students, not just 2nd years. One of my friends was there this year, and liked it and got on with everyone well. The rooms are a good size, as are the kitchens

I'll be starting my second year of History too so any questions, please feel free to PM me. Nixon Court is nice enough- close to uni. Opal court is supposed to be nice too.

Oadby Student Village is great. Some of the accomodation isn't as nice as the others but it's a great place to live.
