Hey guys I've sent today my accommodation form back to the uni(I got an unconditional offer) and I was wondering if there r great chances getting my first choice which is self-catered at JF...
Pretty high - You've got a few weeks head start on most people who'll be applying for accommodation!
I was told that I wasn't going to be able to switch to any other courses after 3 weeks; it might be case-specific for me, but I doubt it because the two courses I'm still deciding on choosing have very marginal differences (one has two different classes than the other).
It depends- I know some second years in Bowder Court lived in a mixed flat last year. However, in Oadby most flats are single sex but blocks tend to be mixed
Nixon, Opal and Freemans are all mixed as far as I am aware!
Hey, Thanks. I'll be starting my second year. With regards to Halls accommodation, i've heard Nixon Court is for 2nd year students. What are your opinions on this hall and the others? (Sorry for this reoccuring question!) I'll take a look around on the 23rd anyhow.
Thanks again.
I think they've already allocated all the rooms in halls already, but you should be okay finding a room in a house, I know plenty of people who are still looking for roomies! xx

Huh? How could they have allocated all the rooms? Don't they wait for conditional offers to become unconditional first?
I'd apply for accommodation today but I'm still waiting for my visa to arrive. I hope there is still some place left. I'm interested in John Foster.
For those who arrive at Leicester via clearing what are the chances of getting good accommodation? by good accommodation I mean a non-shared room.
I got in via clearing and got the type of accommodation i wanted As long as you hand your form in asap preferably by recorded delivery you will be fine!
My situation is slightly different from the norm. I applied really late and went into clearing but already have my A-level results (did them in '07). Would it be better to call up Leicester now and see if they have any places or wait till the 14th?

I'll call up now. The worst they can do is say ring back on the 14th! xx
