All of the halls are nice and social, are you looking for catered or self-catered?

Are you staying in JFH next year Sweetfloss?

I will do either really.

I was catered in Owens Park, Manchester Uni last year (which is amazing- even though I'm leaving) so was hoping to do self-catered this time. But the prices for catered are only a little bit higher than self-catered, so any is fine:smile:

And did you want to be ensuite?
no i dont want ensuite I don't think. it's loads of money for nothing really. Shared showers really AREN'T that bad. haha.

That rules out John foster then! You're looking at Beaumont or Digby or GMS.
I do like the look of Beaumont to be honest.

How sociable is it? I want some fun again, and to meet cool people and to have A FEW BEERS:smile: hehe
can i recomend Beaumont, as its the best hall in the world, (and yes, i know im going to be a subby in JF, but ive spent 3 years in beaumont, hense its good!!).
Anywhere you go you'll enjoy your selves!

Help anyone?
Does anyone know if I need to bring bedding and a duvet?
Im staying ensuite self-catered at John Foster.
In the joining letter it says that they are provided for ensuite rooms, but in the accomodation booklet it says they're provided for ensuite catered rooms only.
Anyone else confused by this? Or am I missing something and being incredibly stupid? :P

I'm taking both, even if they are provided I can't imagine they'll be in a good condition.

Hey. After you've sent back the letter accepting/declining your accommodation offer, do the University send back any form of acknowledgment that they're received it and they are happy with it? I'm a little worried because the letter stated that there was a deadline for my reply (26th August) and I think that my reply would have ended up getting to them late (I only had one day to respond if it were to reach them on time??). I'm not too sure what to expect, I hope my offer hasn't been canceled or anything. Thanks..

they told me that they would not cancel any offer without informign the student first, so the deadline jsut to scare people or so

I was worried about the deadline aswell so I called them and they said the same thing to me, so you have no reason to worry Meow

If you are catered, what kind of kitchen things do you need to bring?

I've got
plates,
bowls,
mugs,
glass,
saucepans
cheese grater!
wooden spoon
plate spoon/ spatals etc

What else?
What kind of things get provided on the utensils front eg measuirng jugs, baking trays etc? Anything?

Nothing is provided utensil wise. There'll be a kettle (but no toaster!) and that's about it.

Don't worry about buying anything else too much until you get there; if you need it (and your flatmates haven't brought it!) you can nip into asda and buy it then
