Few more qs lol
For stuff like saucepans etc, is it worth getting them before you go, or just waiting until you get there & sorting it out with the people you share a kitchen with?
Also, do you think it is worth bringing a printer or just using 1 of the uni 1s?

Just posting it again since no one answered before & kinda need to get it sorted lol..

Buy your own pans. I know no one who shared pans with their flatmates in first year.

Also, buy your own printer. You can get all in ones from HP for £30ish from Amazon. Saves alot of hassle  xx

Also if you have your own printer, you have less of a rush on days when deadlines are due in as the computers and printers in the library get really full close to deadlines.
Guys, in the Accommodation Arrival instructions email, it says the arrival window is between 10:30 AM and 1PM on 26th September.

Do you guys reckon I can get my keys on the 27th as well?

You need to email your halls to ask if you can move in the next day. I wanted to move in on the Saturday rather than the Sunday like they'd told me, so I emailed GMS and they said that's fine and gave me some times to move in on the Saturday. If you're moving into GMS I can give you the email address, first I emailed the accommodation office and they told me to email GMS instead

Not unless you ask their prior permission. xx
Thanks. I just emailed John Foster Halls. I hope they can accommodate this change, because I really can't make it on the 26th because my flight reaches the UK on early morning Sunday, the 27th September. :X

Thank yoooou, added to your rep
Do you know if there's an iron provided too or if I'd need my own?

My friends who are in 3rd year said that there's an ironing board in the laundrette place, but no iron generally. Mum got me an iron the other day for £3.97 in ASDA, it's a steam iron too, pretty good value for money

Wow thanks! I'm not sure about irons - I never ironed in first year!! Or second, come to think of it! Tumble Driers & clever laundry-ing = no creases. God I sound lazy lol.

Either way; it was £4200, which was well out of my price range considering it's another £700 a year ontop of my budget.

I might regret not taking that option now, but perhaps twin won't be too poor, and apparently transfers are 1-6 weeks due to noshows and people dropping out.

EDIT: Plus - my mistake, this forgetfulness/carelessness is probably the reason my accom has gone a little tits up  It was The Grange, not Opal, they originally had offered me.

Trust me, you spend litle time in your room, saving money is the way forward!
True that. The new price means I've actually saved £700 from my budget.
Hi
I know this is a bit of a randm question, but does anyone know which blocks/flats are square rooms and which are L-shaped?? (At John Foster)

I'm in yellow block, and already loads of us are talking and planning parties. So I'm thinking the blocks will be really close and very sociable.
