Hello!
I am a Canadian student (25) looking for opinions and recommendations for 3 year LLB courses in the following law schools:
1. University of Exeter (unconditional offer)
2. University of Leeds (waiting to hear)
3. University of Liverpool (unconditional offer)
4. Queen’s University Belfast (waiting to hear)
5. City, University London (waiting to hear)
I want to choose a school that has good ties with Canada (i.e. has many Canadian graduates who successfully return to practice in Canada) but that is also highly regarded for firms in the UK, since I want to keep the door open to practice there as well, likely as a barrister but haven’t decided.
I love the idea of living in London but have not heard good things about City law school. Right now I think my top choices are Exeter and Leeds but I would like to hear opinions as to the reputations of all the schools, cities and surrounding areas, friendliness of people etc.
Since I am a bit older and have professional legal experience and schooling already as a paralegal in Canada, I am looking for a school that will supplement that well – not a school for the party/first year uni experience. Ideally I’d like to live somewhere where I could get a fellow student flat mate closer to my age. Main thing though is a well-regarded course that provides lots of opportunities post-graduation.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks ☺
