If unis ask for these in their entry requirements, you won't get a place if you don't have the A-levels they ask for. If they don't ask for them, and offer you a place, they won't assume the prior knowledge of A-level Maths/ Economics.

Few unis ask for A-level Economics specifically, as it's not offered that widely, and they know some students won't have the opportunity to take it. Not having A-level Economics shouldn't be a problem. More ask for maths for pure economics, as they want to start teaching from a certain level, and they want strong mathematicians. However, if it's not specified in the entry requirements, it won't be an issue.

Why do you want to do it? Maybe you should consider it with a foundation year?

You probably dont need either, but both would be useful and many other students will have one or the other. depends how confident you are?

I wouldnt risk being overwhelmed.
