Functionalists believe that everything in society is good. Durkheim believes that Education creates Social Solidarity and teaches individuals the Specialist Skills they will need as a worker. Parsons believes that education is the 'focal socialising agency' so act as a bridge between the family and wider society (carred out secondary socialisation). Davis and Moore believe that Education is a way of role allocation, it sifts and sorts people according to ability, the most able get the highest qualifications. Overall Functionalists believe that Education is a meritocracy and prepares children to become workers.
