I mean English or History. And for English I had the worst grades out of my friends who were applying!

Or they made a mistake... haha. I reckon it was my English mark, it was the highest my school had ever had... So I'll put it down to that.

Im doing french literature at the moment. have you heard of Camus and Guy de Maupassant? Im studying some of their stuff. How did your oxford interview go?
Reply 64
I didn't have one this year, only last year and probably "mediocre" describes it suitably. I found the interview utterly boring and they clearly thought I was quite slow as they asked the most unchallenging, dull questions. It may be because I scorned them after they insulted Margaret Atwood and all other modern female writers as "silly little feminists". haha.
Reply 65
lol, yea big mistake never scorn the tutors
Reply 66
You scorned the tutors that were conducting the interview? And why would they put Margaret Atwood down? I found "The Handmaid's Tale" to be a great read.
Reply 67
Yeah... I learnt that one. haha. Well he was annoying anyway. He needed scorning.
Reply 68
Exactly! He insulted The Handmaid's Tale! And then had a quick dig about Austen. Any normal person would have scorned...
Reply 69
You scorned, he stroked out. lol

What's wrong with Austen?!?! Ok I know she likes to go on for about two pages just describing the front gate or something, but once she gets over that, Austen is a master in social commentary. Scorn away! And you're coming to Durham so no harm done.

Your scorning was deserved I think. The guy sounds like quite a jerk.

And then had a quick dig about Austen.

 how dare he! Austen rocks.

Any normal person would have scorned...

Indeed, I don't blame you at all.
Reply 73
Exactly! Austen and Atwood are legends and he dismissed them!

Wahey for Durham!
Reply 74
Legends they are. Likewise to Brontë, Eliot, Woolf and Plath.

Double whoop for Durham!!!
Reply 75
