Question 16 ai

Really confused by this question
I know the equation is heart rate (bpm) = 60 / time taken for one heartbeat (s)
Why do we have to use date between points A and B?
Time taken for one heart beat is between one wave and the next?

Taking the average heart rate over several beats is a more consistent and reliable method of comparison, since heart rate varies slightly between consecutive beats.
