worried I chose the wrong course..

so, it was a toss up between animation and illustration for me. I picked animation but already regretting it, anyone at PCA know whether I can swap? like, do they allow that?

The admissions team will know. Ring them up on Monday morning and ask them.
Hiya artyfarty99,

I definitely understand your worry. Picking your degree and specialism is a really big task, and a really scary one, too. I feel like it’s even harder with the arts because each subject has such a broad spectrum that they all flow into each other in one way or another. However, that might be a good thing. My advice would be go into your first week or so with an open mind, you might actually discover that you really love Animation and that it is, in fact, the thing for you. That being said, you might really hate it and regret your decision entirely.

Seriously, do not worry. One of my housemates was in the exact same position (same courses too, in fact). She went into the first weeks with an open mind, but decided that animation really wasn’t what she wanted to be focusing on. She spoke to her lecturer, who helped her fill out one simple form, then spoke to the lecturer for Illustration, and she moved courses that same day.

It seems so scary having made that commitment, but all of our courses here are really free. I do Photography, but still incorporate painting and other mediums into my work. Please don’t worry too much about it.

If I were you, I would get in touch with [email protected], they'll be happy to help you out. If you've had an offer for both of the courses at PCA they can switch over easily anyway. Plus, UCAS allow a 14 day period after making your decision to change your mind, so if you recently accepted the offer you should be able to change it.

Hope this helps, and makes you feel less worried about your choice. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Harriet
