That's a very big topic area of public law, way beyond the remit of answering your question in one post. One thing to get your head around is that the UK constitution is not contained in a single document, but scattered here there and everywhere through various "constitutional" Acts of Parliament, judicial decisions, Executive powers, conventions and alike. Could you narrow your question in any way at all?

I would say that the three key pillars of the UK constitution are:

Sovereignty Parliament
Separation of Powers
The Rule of Law

I would argue that there are four main branches, them being:

1. Parliamentary Sovereignty
2. Constitutional Monarchy
3. Unitary State
4. Rule of Law
