Brexit is an idiotic mistake - calendar week 13 summary - THE FINAL ONE

Next week it’ll have been one year that I’ve been doing these weekly updates. From their humble beginnings (my first thread only had four news items) to the massive posts of the last weeks, one thing stayed the same: Quitters never had an answer. Often they exposed their utter economic illiteracy by desperately pointing towards everything getting better once Britain is finally out of the EU (when clearly everything will get even worse, with Britain being the isolated minnow without any leverage that it is), sometimes they cited anecdotal, irrelevant, cynical stories of how their careers and finances are thriving, most of the time it was just arrogant, nationalist hubris or plain xenophobia - but they never had an answer to the cold, hard facts that prove how Brexit is royally ****ing Britain and its inhabitants. There is nothing left to prove for me. Bexiteers have suffered a humiliating defeat. Not at my hands - but at the hands of the facts.

As I am climbing the corporate ladder and will soon take on a new role with a larger team and greater responsibilities leading to less spare time that I’d rather spend with my wife and on my many hobbies, I have decided to call it a year and make this my last Bexit update.

Enjoy this one final, beautiful potpourri of news showing how Brits of all walks of life are, or soon will be, permanently worse off than people of equal intelligence, education, qualification, and work ethic on the continent for absolutely no other reason than some uneducated nationalists and xenophobes having had phantom pains of the empire. Truly sad.

Ok. You could do with listening to BBC Radio 4's item yesterday, on humiliation, and the way in which the Brexit debate is so staunchly fought, as it is essentially a matter of identity.

The only slight disappointment to this and previous admissions is that it is all pretty pointless as brexit is going ahead regardless and we can once again rule over our own affairs and stick two fingers up to the EU beaurocrats .

If those things are worth being permanently poorer, isolated, and the laughing stock of the develop world to you - congrats, you have achieved your goal!

Economically illiterate Little Englanders really are the best.
Better than Germans with big egos and mounting debts ...

Good luck ...you and France now have the EU debtors all on your own shoulders so youd better cobble together more of those Kraut cars that no one will want to buy anymore ....😕😄

The BBC and especially Radio4 do not have a clue about Brexit.

There are a lot of #RemainerNow people who did vote for Brexit and have changed their minds, mostly it seems to to lies.

There is the hardcore pro Brexit and remain. Most people are in the middle or soft pro or remain Brexit.

You mean "that permanently poorer Brits cannot afford anymore"? Enjoy buying cars made by the famous British-owned car industry... oh wait, you have none.

The EU's and Germany's finances will be just fine now that we don't have to subsidise the poor, underdeveloped, chav-filled, Leave-voting regions of Britain anymore. The EU's economy is thriving after all - very much unlike Britain's, the slowest growing developed economy in the world, and a global laughing stock!
In answer to the OP ,no Brexit isn't an idiotic mistake,it's the best decision this country ever made .Cant wait to be rid of the EU ,that is if it lets us go ,it reminds me of a black hole .My only concern is the strength of our Govt in negotiating , but then much of it has been concerning the transition period so far and it's the final arrangement that is really important.
Things like Asean show that you can have free trade without free movement. The EU is only ever going to be a Union of European Socialist Republics, OP cannot deny that

LOL you clearly don't know what you are talking about

"Subsidise underdeveloped chav filled leave voting regions of Britain" More like subsidise failing EU economies like Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, Slovakia etc.

UK is the second largest net contributor to the EU.

You are just another fool who ignores all the facts which are contrary to what you wish to be true.

Failing, eh?

The Baltic States are booming, Bulgaria is growing at 4% (WELL outperforming Britain), Slovenia and Slovakia show positive GDP growth trends that Brexit Britain can only dream of... you know, just because you've never been to these countries (and never will in your life, as a good Little Englander) doesn't mean they are 'failing'.
And of course it is part of the deal that stronger EU countries support weaker ones for mutual benefit, a concept arrogant, cynical, and self-centered Britain never understood, part of the reason why you lot were utterly isolated in Brussels and are getting humiliated in the negotiations day-in-day-out now.

Yup, but with the strong economic growth that the continent is experiencing (much unlike Britain), it'll be no problem to compensate for Britain's contribution across the 27. You're also conveniently ignoring that you lot might need to keep paying handy sums to keep access to the single market, without which your laughable economy would pretty much collapse. Aaaaand there'll be a high double-digit billions divorce bill lining Brussels pockets.

...only that they don't. Quitters cannot rebut them and have no response. My abrasive debating style takes away nothing from my valid, superior arguments that expose Brexiteers as the nationalist, economically illiterate knucke-draggers that they are.

Lived in Other EU member states through my youth, just goes to show how idiotic your assumptions are.
You make ridiculous straw man arguments about brexit voters because you are sore about the result.

"Well outperforming Britain" LOL do you in your delusional bubble think Greece is doing great also?
Just because you've been there on holiday doesn't mean it's economy is doing well, fool.

The UK is the 5th largest nation ( According to the IMF, World Bank and United nations) With a GDP of 2,647,898 US$MM
Bulgaria is in 78-80th place with a GDP of 52,395 US$MM

This means the UK GDP is roughly 50.54 times the the size of Bulgaria.

LOL this shows that you don't know basic facts. Being out of the single market means the UK will be free from the EU's backwards protectionist tariffs on trade outside the EU.

The EU especially would be suffer much more than the UK if it decided not to give free market access to the UK.

The EU GDP as it stands is
16,332,631 US$MM (according to the united nations) or 16,397,980 US$MM (according to the world bank)

Which means given the UK's GDP, when the UK leaves the EU, The EU will lose 16.38% or 16.31% of its GDP (based on the gdp figures from the United Nations and World Bank respectively)

Are you seriously suggesting the UK will lose anywhere near the same amount from it's economy? If so you are either deluded, a fool, or both.

LOL look at you desperate arguments talking about 4% growth in Bulgaria LOL Bulgaria accounts for 0.32% of the EU's GDP and is 50.54 times smaller than the UK GDP,
yet you want to talk about growth in Bulgaria Rather than the EU losing 16.38% of its GDP when the UK leaves LOL.

Like I said, you ignore the important facts because they don't support your argument at all.
Go back to playing with teddy bears lol, Lego is probably too complex for you, fool.

Why would I be sore about it? I'm just gloating as I am not even British - but of course you couldn't tell that from my user name or my signature. Do your homework, kid, you're just embarrassing yourself over and over here.

Did I say that Greece was outperforming Britain? Learn to read, dimwit.

That being said, they do have much, much stronger growth rates than Britain recently. You lot should really talk to the Greeks, that knowledge of how to re-build a collapsed economy will come in very handy post-Brexit.

Ok. So what? How does that support any of your arguments or refute any of mine? You must be utterly desperate to distract from your weak, uninformed positions if you need to post irrelevant points like this.

Did I compare the size of Britain's and Bulgaria's economies? No. I compared growth rates. Now, to the intellectually challenged that might seem the same, but it's not. Do some reading and come back when you understand the basic concepts.

Who will Britain do trade with outside the EU? You lot don't make anything people want. Rolls-Royce is your biggest, internationally competitive industrial corporation - what a joke!

The US? Trump will laugh in your face, he needs wins, you lot will be an easy one. You'll get a *****y trade deal.

China? You minnows don't matter to them. You'll get a *****y trade deal.

Your former colonies? They'll love to get back at you for decades of exploitation and genocides. And they're pissed off at you for talking to China. You'll get a *****y trade deal.

Would be suffer? Everyone here can see you have not the slightest clue about economics, but can't you at least write correct English?

I'd say you seem to conveniently ignore the fact that the UK is much more reliant on trade with the EU than the other way around, but then your pathetic, economically illiterate arguments suggest that you're just not educated enough to know this.

Wow. You are seriously stupid. That's not how economics work, fool. The UK doesn't pay its entire GDP to the EU in fees, nor are the fees directly proportional the GDP.

Not a single expert in his right mind is denying that the UK will heavily suffer from Brexit, much more than the EU, which has accelerating growth. I know, the Daily Mail, the Express, Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson have told you differently, but they're targeting uneducated, gullible mouth-breathers exactly like you, so that's not a surprise.

Strange that you single out Bulgaria. Didn't I list a whole host of countries which are all growing solidly, some rapidly, most of them faster than the UK, which you previously -incorrectly of course- named as problem childs, exposing your utter ignorance once again?

And again, you are showing your lack of intelligence by focusing on Britain's GDP that the EU would 'lose'. Again, that's not how it works. Get an education, seriously.

... says the mouth-breather who can't make a single correct economic argument and does nothing but utterly embarrass himself with his spectacular ignorance. Do you even have a Masters degree, let alone high-profile work experience? Exactly, so STFU, and let the grown-ups do the talking.
