Further update. I am now 100% convinced that this is a scam. Professional portfolios are not needed when entering the modelling industry. Agencies are actually more happy with decent quality amateur images that can be submitted directly to the agency- or you can just walk in off the street in many cases. Any company that offers you a portfolio but isn't actually an agency IS A SCAM. Any company that asks for a booking deposit for a photo shoot IS A SCAM. You might think- "well, if the 50 quid is refunded, why not go and see if the photos from the shoot are good anyway"- DON'T! They will try to pressure sell you images and it will be very uncomfortable.

If you are trying to break into the modelling industry, make sure the first step you take is with a reputable AGENCY. Not some photo studio that has no sway in the modelling industry. If you want to go and buy professional pics from a photographer to have some sort of an edge- fine, but just go to a reputable photographer, not one that claims to be a stepping stone to the modelling agency. And make sure that before the shoot, the cost of photos is made clear up front so that you can decide whether you think photos will be worth that much. The charges that the scammers will take are extortionate amounts of money for a few bloody photos.
I agree one hundred percent

Looking back their are a few ways you can tell they are fake!

The website was only established a few months ago, they are also trading under the matrix digital fashion Ltd, wish in it self is weird.

Their are no reviews on their website,I looked further on Instagram they have hardly any credible followers. You can't leave posts on their Instagram photos I wonder why?

I was told two separate types of information in relation to my deposit being refunded by two con artists! I was told by con number 1 I would receive my refund on the day of my shoot. The next con told me I couldn't get it back until 5-7 working days.

Also the confirmation email lacked real professionalism now looking back. They also kept contacting me from various different mobile number to confirm the photo shoot which again is weird.

The fundamental rule of all which would have saved me money is don't part with any cash no matter what is sold to you!

I will be contacting the fraud squad and police asap!

Hi, I had the same email, just a few age restrictions changed, so where yours says 22, mine says 18 (so I’m assuming it’s based on your own age). The number was also different. They emailed me confirming my success in the first stage and instantly rang me a couple hours later however, I missed the call so I’m unsure as to what it was about. I have posted the email they sent me below.‘Hi,Congratulations on being shortlisted from a huge volume of applicants, we are looking forward to having you in the studio!Thank you for applying, firstly we would like to say well done for getting to this stage. Our creative team loved your photo and you have successfully passed our selection process. Please read through this email thoroughly before confirming acceptance, as we only have a limited number of appointments and therefore only wish to invite serious applicants, appointments are available on a first-come first-served basis. You have been shortlisted within your age category and we would therefore like to offer you the chance to come to one of our studios in the next couple of weeks for a 4 hour photo-shoot. Our studios have a limited number of photo-shoots for applicants that are serious about breaking into the modelling industry. On the day you will have 3-4 hair and makeup changes to see how versatile your look is. You will have indoor and outdoor location shoots (depending on the weather) to see how you perform in a professional studio environment. If you are successful on the day you will be invited to have a consultation with one of our Image Consultants. They will go through all of your images and work out which areas of modelling you should pursue. If you wish to take the next step, we will then look at building you a suitable portfolio. Industry standard model portfolios are available if successful at an investment to yourself. These will start from £299.No agency will represent you unless you have recent professional photographs. The studios Agency Liaison Team will then match you up with the appropriate model agencies which best suit the type of model you are and also help you get signed to an agency. As you have been shortlisted, we cover the cost of the photo shoot for you. This will include a personal makeup artist, a hairstylist and a professional fashion photographer for that day, as well as the cost of studio hire. Our studios are very high profile and they ask us to only bring in serious clients. In order to ensure client attendance, they do require that we take a fully refundable booking deposit of £50 (21 or under, £100 without a parent). As long as you turn up for the appointment, it is refunded back to you. The deposit is only lost if you (1) do not show up, or (2) are more than 30 minutes late for the appointment. We will send you a confirmation pack on email once the appointment has been confirmed with yourself and the studio, containing your appointment date and time, a receipt of the booking deposit and a directions/map to the studios. Once you have read this email, please call me on 0207 099 2685 to book your appointment as we are now in the process of finalising all shortlisted models and will be closing applications shortly. Please note: anyone aged 21 and under will need to attend with a parent. To reiterate, we are extremely limited on invitation space, so in order to get booked in, I would need you to get in contact with me as soon as possible. Look forward to hearing from you!’Fortunately, I was able to see this as a scam but I know many people have lost money and that’s why I searched the company and have posted about this scam.

(This is not a question, just didn’t know where else to post it)

GURL!
If you are approached by anyone who represents ‘silverline models’ DO NOT BE FOOLED! I had someone add me on Facebook called ‘Jody Louise’ who CLAIMED to be a representative and a scout for ‘Silverline’. There was me thinking ‘omg I’m a model, don’t touch me, don’t even look at me’.

So, after chatting to Jody, (who by the way was rude as HECK and extremely blunt) she told me she found me through my StarNow profile (which I had just set up that morning) so part of me was like okkkkk... this is a bit soon) but the other part of me was like BRING IT TO THE RUNWAY RUNRUNRUNRUNWAY!!

She asked me to look at their website which looked legit, however there were no talent profiles available to view because the site was under construction, she also asked me to send my portfolio pictures to an email address she gave me, which I did. (They were the same photos available on my StarNow profile so she could’ve just found them on there but whatev).

Then about 3 hours later she messaged me again saying that she had a shoot in Swansea (I’m Gloucestershire based so that’s not 1 million miles away for me) I was like YAS GURL GIMMIE DIS JOB! But i still wanted to be cautious as I’ve never really done this kind of thing before... SO I was like girl you’re gunna have to give me more deets.

She explained that it was a payed job and it was £1100 (to which i was like pppp peanut butter) but I would have to pay £500 for costume and accommodation.......

I then explained that I had friends and family in Swansea and that I could just stay with them to which she replied ‘no, all talent stays in me place’ which got me thinking this was some kinda HUNGER GAMES!

So I was like girlfriend... r u sure about urself? Ur gunna need me to send me a contract because this is not lookin’ cute.

She refused to send me a contract and said I either needed to get someone to visit their NY offices to check they weren’t some kinda homeless ***** trolls.

And by this point I was like HEEEELLL NAAAAWWW! so I googled them and found a few other forums where people were talking about being scammed in similar ways by other modelling agencies.

SO JUST TO WARN Y’ALL!

Don’t accept any messages or friend requests from this hoe. She a thirsty Rigga-Morris beetch!
These places have no shame I haven’t been on the student room in ages I’m glad you asked for a contract These places need to be stopped it’s just horrible I actually don’t know how people work for them scamming F....

No unfortunately we don't lI've near the area but I think I'll just not go to the photoshoot anyway and I won't call them or email. I'll let the money go as well as I'd rather lose the money and have my peace of mind back to be honest. And thanks

Found a new thread to these scammers. They have rebranded to "Phase one management" with the logo "PIM" and website - phaseonem.co.uk

Same lies, deposit and building up your ego of how beautiful you are and the potential you have in the industry.

All the while seeding portfolio ideas and how expensive they are and how necessary they are in the modelling world (really not, just walk in to an agency).

Have to buy the pictures then and there otherwise they are deleted.

STAY AWAY WITH A 15 FOOT BARGEPOLL!!!!
