I have received offers from Swansea, Bangor, and Royal Holloway for the MSc in clinical psychology. I am also waiting to hear back from Newcastle and York.
I'm wondering which school would be the best to choose. I'm planning on doing a masters so that I may go on to get a PhD in clinical psych. I live in the US and would like a degree that prepares me to do research work in the field of clinical psych.
Swansea has the most interesting program, in my opinion, but I do not see as much emphasis on research or clinical training as the other programs.
I know nothing about the rankings for schools in the UK, so I don't even know how they compare. Things I also would like to consider are class sizes, number of hours spent in class vs working on research projects, prospective jobs that I may be able to have whilst studying that can get me involved in research, etc.
Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I think Swansea & Bangor would be better unis...not to be biased...but they're both in Wales. And Wales is a lovely place

I am actually doing the Msc clinical psych too. Thanks for the info. I will look more into [email protected], i believe that contact hours for Msc clinical psych is basically 6-10 hours a week, and you will be encouraged to take up internship or volunteer positions for the remainder of your time to clock experience.

Congratulations on receiving an offer form Bangor! If you would like to speak with our current Psychology students you can do so via the Unibuddy platform on our website, they're all very helpful and ready to share their experience of the course at Bangor

Or if you have any questions for me I'm happy to help

Anna
