Graph Transformations
When transforming graphs ie. from y=x to y = 3(2x-1)+6 , do you move then stretch, or stretch then move. ie in the x direction, do you move right 1 then stretch by 1/2 , or do you stretch by 1/2 then move by 1?

You can do either order, but the actual quantity of the transformation is not the same between the two orders.
For example, going from to can either be done by:
(a) Translation by the vector , followed by a stretch of s.f.
or
(b) Stretch by a factor of , followed by a translation by the vector
