I'm having trouble balancing this equation! I know that there has to be a 3 in front of CuSO4 , but I am struggling on balancing the rest of the equation? Can someone help me out? Also has anyone got any tips on balancing complex equations like this?
3CuS (s) + a HNO3 (aq) --> b CuSO4(aq) + c NO(g) + d H2O(l)
3 = b --> b=3
a = 2d ----> d = a/2
Repeat this for all and then solve for the variables
3CuS(s) + 8 HNO3 (aq) --> 3 CuSO4 (aq) + 8NO(g) + 4H2O(l)
I never thought about looking at it algebraically! I just tried using trial and error XD!
