Yes you're right. An email gets sent to you saying "We are pleased to offer you a place in University Residences for the 2008/09 session". Then you have to log onto the residence part on the university website and there it will say where you've been allocated. And then have 7 days to to the residence agreement.

That's weird because I never got an email like that but I have been allocated. It was just lucky that I thought to check today otherwise I might have missed the deadline...

That makes it sound like Colum is full already :frown: Aberconway is my 2nd choice I think, which I still like the sound of. But I would like an ensuite :p:

Still, can't moan whatever. My friend is going to KCL - she got her last choice, and has a 90minute commute between her halls and the uni....and that's each way.
Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow what I got for accommodation... ahh.
Good luck, I hope you all get what you want!

I got mine so now its just getting ready to come over!
Just got up early-ish to check mine and nothinggggg :P

*runs around like an impatient four year old*

Maybe your postal service sucks like mine and leaves your post in the road. I'm sadly not joking...

Your sig says you did ICT as well? Whoo, fellow ICT buddy.

rofl, well we got other post this morning, just none from ucas!
and yeah i did do ICT, although it was probably the biggest mistake ever- the department at our school was shocking. the pc's looked nice but never worked, and the teachers were awful. not one person got an A! I got nearly full marks in coursework and exam at GCSE too (different school). grrr. how did you do in ict?

Our department was exactly the same, I managed to get an A by 2 marks (481/600) and I was the first A grade in 3 years. I'm proud of having beat the system, lmao. I had to write 400 pages of coursework for both AS/A2 to get there and resit/resubmit a lot of **** too to get there though :P
Nothing here yet either! I'm not overly bothered just getting impatient!

My Mum got my a book of 101 Pasta Dishes, so I want to try a few of them out haha.

haha well done! i only got 425, so I pretty much scraped a B. our marks must have gone down, because i was predicted a high B by my teacher before our work got sent off. ah well. Jackal, i think im gonna ring cardiff today. I just want to make sure everythings OK. ;/

Aww, well at least you were lucky since you scraped it, I got something ridiculous like 18 marks taken off my A2 coursework which was annoying.

I'll probably phone em later on today, maybe 4-ish as to give them time to maybe respond to me today. I can't help being worried tbh.

Same, half 3/4 im planning on ringing! It wont do us any harm i suppose  Let me know what happens!

What are you gonna ask them specifically? I was thinking along the lines of 'I was just wondering if everything's okay with my accommodation, as I haven't heard anything and I applied really early' except let's not both say that phrase word for word as they might suspect something :P

Haha well actually I was planning on saying exactly that! Hm.. I think i'll say: "I'm due to start cardiff uni in september but haven't yet recieved accommodation information (thats a mouthful!), despite applying early on in the process" I'll probably mention about other people who seem to have applied later but heard about accommodation earlier, just so it seems like I have a more valid reason to ring :p:

Good idea, I might just ask and then explain the reason why after they answer me, or something. Man, thinking a bit too much into this. Let me know how it goes and I'll do the same :P
I just tried ringing now (the number is 029 2087 4849, to save you looking it up), and the line was busy (no Ringback grrrr), might try again in a bit. I'm going for the classic "I'd like to enquire about the status of my accommodation application" line, should do the trick without making me sound like some kind of obsessive.
Yeah jackal I think we're looking into this too much haha. We'll probably end up saying something completley different to what we planned!
Thanks for the number james  I'll try today. I hope they have better hold music than UCAS!

I think 'The Final Countdown' on loop would be appropriate.
