anybody on here using UWIC student accomodation at all or is it all Cardiff University Accomodation everyone is living at.I just want to know really what is like


I'm not sure but I think this thread is for Cardiff Uni? Umm I dunno :P I know my friend at UWIC got put in the private accom Victoria Halls though.

thanks for that can u ask your friend whats it like and how she/he finds it.Thats all i would like to know as i be going in 2009 not this year,any advice/info concerning UWIC accomodation would be appreciated:biggrin:

I honestly haven't got a clue, he's starting the same date this year I am so hasn't been yet. I heard some of the accom is quite nice, with ensuites and so on.
~ Omg 10 days until I move now~ :P

This time next week I'll be there....7 days but seeing as everyone else is saying 8 days I may be there alone, but at least I'll be there!

It's come around pretty quick really! I'm going down on Thursday, can't wait! Do you reckon much is going to be going on next weekend i.e. Friday and Saturday night?

This time next week I'll have moved in. How exciting :biggrin: Although, I'm worried I'll miss out on a load of socialising because I don't have a passport, and I won't be able to get my provisional licence before I leave.

Week today I'm moving in. That is if my car doesn't stop working because of the weight of all my things inside it.
6 days!
One week :biggrin:. Oooh I can't wait.

Although I still don't have a bank account because they lost my application :mad:. So now my parents have to pay the rent. Grr.

I'm afraid I'm going to move the topic back to the whole internet malark. I just know I'm going to have problems setting the internet up when I get there, I'm clueless with things like this.

What the hell is a UTP Ethernet card?!! Or a PCMCIA Ethernet card? We have to buy them?!

Look on the side of your laptop (I'm guessing you have one). Can you see anything that looks like this?:


If so, you already have everything you need. Unless it's a really old laptop, I can almost guarantee you'll have one of those connectors. Most newer desktop computers would have them as well.

It's literally about a week old. Yes it looks like that, well...just a hole with some lines. Haha, but yeah it's like that.
