I chose Colum Hall and Aberconway as first 2 choice cos they are closest to business school. Next 2 are talybont north and south. LOL!

It goes;
Talybont South
Talybont North
Talybont Court
Colum Hall
Gordon Hall
Senghennydd Hall
University Hall

hoping I don't get Uni hall though simply because it's a bit far out, I don't mind too much, I'm sure it'll be mad wherever!

I chose:

Senghennydd Court
Aberconway
Colum hall
Taly court
Taly south ensuite
taly south undergraduate plus (i don't really know what this means)
Senghennyd Hall ensuite
Taly north ensuite
Gordon hall
Aberdare hall

if i get either one of my top 3 then i'll be very happy. need the grades first though, keep forgetting about that detail!

Has anyone who's applying for Senghennydd Court taken up the option of the evening meal plan? Pros and cons of the plan? What's the difference between part catered and self catered?

Self catered is where you fend for yourself.
Part-Catered is where you get the evening meal but have to find your own lunch and breakfast.
dont worry 2 much. i know someone who only put 1 choice down, and they got into that!
i listed all of them but because i chose talybont south, i got in (it holds the most students so u normally have a good chance of getting in). i dont know anyone who got their second choice let alone 3rd or 4th. just send your form in quicky and dont contemplate too much. although i do recommend talybont south!!!!! definately!!

I'm doing Adult nursing

I've choosen

Allensbank house
Taly North
Uni hall

Not much choice for nurses!!
I personally like the idea of Aberdare Hall  don't know that much about it though. I'm not sure about many of the others, thinking about it just gives me a headache >_> going to try and check out more accommodation on the open day.

Aberdare Hall is beautiful, plus you get first refusal on your room in the second and third years so it takes away the pressure of having to fine somewhere to live if you don't feel ready.

The little things are so sweet, such as the three pianos in the commual areas and the lodge house at the entrance. Plus, it is pretty centrally located and cheap.

It's nice to see someone else liking it lol, so many people seem to dismiss it because it is all girls and isn't ensuite.

Oh yea, I have a question. The application for residence website mentions that 'If you are an overseas/EU postgraduate student you will be required to make a non-refundable pre-payment of £200 so please have your credit/debit card details to hand.' Right now my status is 'submitted.' I am from HK as depicted on my profile, so I wonder is that that when i pay this 200 pounds then my status would change to 'allocated?'

I half wanted to because I love to stay in beautiful buildings (a huge regret of mine in regards to not getting into St andrews is that Cardiff's accomodation isn't as pretty  ) but having gone to an all girls school for the last seven years, I simply could not stand the idea of living in all girls accomodation. I love my school, and I know you're not exactly isolated there:p: but the idea of it filled me with dread, so it got crossed off the list. *sigh* Why does it have to be the prettiest?!

Aww lol. The only other one I've looked at Talybont South (I think it was). I went to an all girls high school but don't mind the prospect again even though most of my mates now are lads lol.

There are loads of pretty buildings in Cardiff though for you to enjoy.
