Hi all so long story short i have missed the whole topic of Othello in college due to medical reasons which meant i had to take a while off...

So I've decided to do English Literature revision these Easter holidays for now starting tomorrow.... (6th April) and was wondering how I should revise...

I have summarised all of Othello into the below topics/sections according to a revision guide but have not started revising ANY of them... I wanted to ask if I should start by doing one of these sections a day or more... :

- Acts / scenes
- characters analysis
- themes
- genre
- structure
- language
- context
- critical interpretations
- exam help

Do you think I should attempt to do more than one of these sections a day?

I will be attempting to work from 9-8 with 30 minute breaks in between and will see if I learn anything....

I think I should do one a day and do it in a lot of detail and if I finish it then do another (maybe) but focus on one a day then tick it off... this will make me much less stressed because I'll have done the task for that day And personally feel like the day was not a waste.

The reason I'm asking is because I only have until the end of Easter (another week) to finish ALL of Othello, A whole psychology topic I missed and 2 whole history topics I missed...

I've been worrying and stressing non stop! It's just physically impossible for me to retain, understand And memorise information from 4 large topics in just over a week!

I could get an extended deadline which I will have to do...
The only reason I am worried about doing doing this is becasue after Easter everyone including me will be expected to also revise and do the new topics obviously so I'm getting worried

What would you do?
Advice?
Tips?

Thanks

hey. i’m studying othello also so if you want, pm me

what you’ve done sounds really good though! you’ve done a lot.

i’d suggest you focus on key scenes. obviously in the exam you’ll be given an extract in section A. so ik you’ve gone over all the scenes, but maybe go into more depth on a few key areas and make sure you know all sections of the play (beginning, middle and end).

another way of practicing the extract section could be to open your play on a random page, and imagine those two pages/page and a half, is the extract from your exam and think or practice what you would write and focus in on.
