Did you read Labour's response? It was practically something Assad could have written himself.

There's nothing wrong with what he said, I think in a situation like this we need cool heads that think rationally and think of bringing about a stable and peaceful future. He condemned the attacks stop suggesting that he is denying whether the attacks took place.

Assad gassed his own people as he knows that the most that America can do is bomb a few airfields as Assad has the backing of Russia which will prevent any western invasion in Syria.

Another reason to why an western invasion is unlikely, is because the American populace has very little appetite for another war, especially considering they already had o fight 2 wars in the past decade.

There has been numerous chemical attacks on the Syrian populace since the Civil War broke the out. President Obama said that these would be "Red Lines" but was weak in this area & did nothing of real substance. If the US really wanted an excuse to declare war & remove Assad, they'd have done it already. Assuming that the opposition has carried out multiple chemical attacks on itself is conspiracy theorist nonsense.

The chemical attacks have been the actions of Assad's forces. Whether or not Assad ordered them is more unclear as it's possible that units of the Syrian military are operating without direct control from the highest levels of command.

The rebels don't have air power, the terrorists (ISIS, Al-Qaeda etc.) don't have air power. The only forces that have air power in the middle east is the West and Assad and his allies. If anyone believes the U.S (with their military and intelligence capabilities) be stupid enough to engage in a false flag attack to frame the russians when the finger would firmly be pointed at them, then they are stupid. I think this is a false flag attack from the russians to blame the West because why would Assad use chemical weapons when he has already won the war unless he was trying to blame the US.
