I want to know whether it is okay to write a response to a question in the paper which is correct but is out of scope of the Biology syllabus. I mean, will the examiners be qualified enough to know that what I wrote is correct? Will I get no marks? Or will they hold a discussion on it? Thanks everyone.

if its not on the mark scheme then you don't get the marks. i mean, the examiners would be able to mark all of the papers with their own knowledge anyway- the mark scheme is there to standardise it, so everyones paper is treated the same. the only exception is the synoptic essay at the end (if youre doing aqa) where out of spec stuff is credited.
