How many poems should I know by heart?

Can I not just revise 2 poems under different themes?
E.g. loss/parting - walking away and mother any distance

Romantic love- sonnet 29 and love’s philosophy

Romantic love- sonnet 29 and Singh song
:dots:
Just a note i'm doing the same cluster as you, what's your favourite and worst poem?
Mines probably Winter Swans because it's cute and Singh Song because it's ****. Honestly if Singh Song came up on the exam i'd cry so hard

For AQA Power and Conflict we were told to learn 8, a few poems for each theme that could come up.
You don't need to know the FULL LENGTH of any of the poems off by heart, just revise and remember key themes and quotations as well as aspects of structure from each poem and you'll be fine. Your exam board do not expect you to be able to recite each poem off by heart that unreasonable.
