Makeup for prom

Hey guys
I’m looking for makeup for prom that’s not too expensive, but not too cheap either, and is of good quality. I’ve never worn makeup in my life 😬 and so I have no clue at all. I’m good with foundation though, as I got matched and found a good product recommended by a friend, but otherwise I’m clueless.
Any help? xx

Do you live near a Boots pharmacy ? Particularly one with a No7 counter ?

Yes I do xx
Do you intend to use the make-up again after prom?

If not, it would probably be cheaper to just get your make-up done professionally. Quality make-up does cost. I had my uni graduation make-up done at a MAC store for the price of a bottle of foundation.

This might be worth considering: give them a ring a week or so before your prom and see if it was possible for them to do a skin test and maybe do a trial makeover but book it on the day of your prom. The only thing is you will have to buy 2/3 items but they are amazing and teach you how to do it as they go xx

That actually really helps thank you. I may use some of the makeup after prom, but I might get it done professionally now that you’ve said that. Thanks for the tip xx

That is actually such a good idea thank you ❤️❤️
Their makeup is actually really good, it's a bit expensive but it lasts for ages (took me 2 years to use it all up) 😂

That’s a relief, I don’t have the most amount of money atm, so knowing that is good thank you again xx

You're more than welcome ! Hope you have a great time 😊 xx
I would avoid getting it done professionally because most of the time they really cake it on and make you look a little overdone (especially if the makeup artist is an older adult). If you have a friend/cousin/sister who is good with makeup then they could apply it for you. If not, there are lots of prom makeup tutorials on youtube.
If you don't normally wear makeup there's no point in going all out with a full face of makeup. You don't want to look like a completely different person or have any makeup mishaps.
I would just stick to a little concealer, some blush/bronzer depending on your skin tone, lip gloss, mascara, and shimmery highlighter on your cheekbones and inner corner of your eyes. Potentially also a matte medium brown in your eyeshadow crease for a bit of definition.
Can get all of this in boots/superdrug.
I misread the title as "makeup for porn"

Thank you for the tips, I think I’m gonna stick to doing it myself or getting my friend to do it cos then I’ll be in control of the situation xx
A good drugstore foundation that's for your skin type (whether that's dry, oily or normal) would be good. Some good foundations are Maybelline Fit Me and Loreal Infallible. For prom, you wouldn't want to look too cakey so wear a medium coverage foundation that matches your tone well. You can buy Real Techniques brushes which are not expensive at Boots but i'd invest a bit more on an eyeshadow palette (you can find good palettes on beautybay.com or cultbeauty.co.uk). There are some pretty highlighters you can find at boots (e.g. Sleek). Personally, I'd wear false lashes for prom which you can also find at Boots. For bronzer, The Balm do really good bronzers (Bahama Mama) and I think you can also find this at Boots.
As for lips, you can literally find any drugstore lipstick/lipgloss e.g. NYX that you like the colour of and it'll do the job.
