Interviews for postgrad applications at Cambridge

Hello guys,

Cambridge mentions that in the case of an application being considered, an interview will be held with the applicant. The thing is everyone around me who went to Oxbridge for postgrad courses told me that they never had to do interviews, just had conditional offers. What do you guys think?

Is it related to how high or low or risky the applicant’s grades and potential end of the year results are?

Also, out of topic, but do they share applications from a department to another? I have applied to two different departments and I’m afraid one application might hinder the other (as in the coherence, for career goals etc.)
