Changing a false police statement

Hi,

I know someone which experienced something rather differcult and this person went to the police and made a statement but before they went in they were at a low point and got pressured by their family members to lie and exaggerate the story which she did. But she now wants to change what she has done for obvious reasons and has fallen out with these family members.

but what would happen to her and the case against the guilty person who has pleaded guilty to most the charges but not all of them if she says what happened and how she was pressured into lying.

thanks

She will probably be charged with "making a false statement to the police" and/or perjury. However it her false statement is going to be detrimental to another person then she should definately tell the police the truth. She might if the police are in a good mood be able to claim she was under duress at the time of making the statement.
