MA International Film Business-University of Exeter and London Film School

Hey! I just got into the University of Exeter and London Film School course MA International Film Business. I have made it my firm choice. I just wanted to make sure that it is the right choice. Is there anyone who knows about the course or has done his course before? Thanks

Did you choose to enroll in the program? I'm enrolled for the program myself for this upcoming school year!

Hey I just receive an offer for 2019 intake. Did you go to this program in the end? How was it? I am also wondering if I should accept this program. Cheers!

Hey, how are you getting on with this course (if you're in it) and what is it like?

I am planning to apply for this year but I see no information on it anywhere, no notable alumni nor reviews?

Please give some feedback if you can.

Thank you

Hi, all!
I’m wondering for those who are accepted, do you mind sharing how long it took before you heard back from the school?
I applied in March and haven’t received a decision yet.
Super nerve wrecking.

Thanks in advance!

Hi- I've been accepted onto this course for 2020 start and am awaiting other decisions, but currently this one is my top choice! If any of you are on the course currently, how has it gone? Also- are there any other people on TSR planning on starting this course for 2020?

Hi, there!

I was accepted to the course last year, but decided to go to Goldsmiths in the end.
The main reason was that I want to have a balanced theory & practice curriculum on my way of learning to become a film producer.
LFS' MAIFB seems to only offers theory classes when I was doing my research back then, which is also confirmed by my friend who is currently studying there later on.
However, if you intend to go into the film industry largely focus on the business side (e.g. getting finance, selling, marketing for a film), I think that might not be such a problem.
Overall, according to what I heard from another alumnus, they felt it is an okay programme, but if they had other choices, they might not go with this one.

Sorry that I'm not giving too much of a positive opinion, but hope it would be of help.

Thank you so much for your reply- That's my main reservation with the programme- I'm interested in development/pre-production and production, so I'm not sure if the business focus would be right for me. I've been accepted onto MA Filmmaking at Sussex and am looking more seriously at that programme now and leaning away from the MAIFB. I've also applied to the MA Producing at Goldsmiths among other things and am waiting on my replies, so I could end up there as well!

Thank you for your honesty, you've been very helpful!

From what I know, my friend doing LFS' MAIFB ends up actively seeking for filmmaking opportunities outside the course. I'd guess at least LFS do have great filmmaking courses that they could reach out to get experience and connection.
If you need any advice regarding Goldsmiths or any other places that I might apply to before, I'd be happy to help, too!

Hello. I'm considering applying to Goldsmiths and wanted to ask about your experience there. What course did you take, and how was your time in terms of gaining practical filmmaking experience and connections? Any advice or insight would be super helpful. Thanks
